Etude House Pomegranate Mask

I went to Etude House to buy my all-time fave Precious Mineral BB Cream. I was so thrilled when the saleslady handed me their Pomegranate Facial Mask as a freebie. I'm not such a big fan of face masks but I got interested to use this because I've been under some stress lately and I could use a little pampering. Plus, I have no idea about Pomegranate fruit and it's benefits.

"Etude House Pomegranate Mask contains pomegranate additives that nourish for a healthy complexion. Tension fit design for improved facial adhesion and comfort"
Directions : Apply mask sheet to cleanse face and leave on for 20-30 minutes. Remove mask and massage remaining solution into skin with hands. Recommended interval for mask application is every 2-3 days for maximum efficacy.

Price : Php 58.00 (around 1USD)

what's inside : wet folded mask!
Looking ridiculous in beauty face mask. LOVE or LOATHE? :)

Pros :
(1) It's a mild scented mask.
(2) Cheap.
(3) Feels relaxing and cool.
(4) Very much hydrating.
(5) Skin feels slightly firmer.
(6) Cute packaging.

Cons :
(1) I don't know with you but it doesn't fit me well.
(2) Doesn't stick to your face -so better use it while reclining or lying down.
(3) I didn't see much improvement in my skin.

It disappointed me a bit because I expect so much from this brand but considering it's price..not bad. I like it but I still prefer wash-off / peel-off mask.

What You Need To Know About Gel Manicures

We spend an hour in the salon because we admire newly varnished nails, only to end up smudging our manicure soon after getting your money to pay for it. Any woman can agree, it'll be a miracle not to ruin your polished nails after a day or two because most of us run a thousand errands.

For those who haven't heard about the hottest trend in salons (seriously, where the hell do you live?), there is now a solution to keep up with our manicures. No need to hassle over DIY manicures or ask a friend to do touch-ups every now and then.

Millions of women are enjoying that latest craze in nail care -and you're probably wearing one right now, Gel Manicure. Unlike regular manicure, it's chip-free, smudge-free and quick drying manicure that last up to 2 to 3 weeks.

Process of Gel Manicure :
It starts out like a normal manicure. After applying base coat, it is cured under a UV lamp for a minute, followed by two layers of special polish and then the top coat. (What's so surprising about it? Your nails are dry soon after the process!)

But before you subject your hands to UV light, read some of the many concerns raised over gel manicures :

"..results that may look beautiful for two weeks but could cause months of damage to the natural nail. I've seen the damage done to my clients' nails and have heard even more horror stories and requests to repair the delicate nail tissues."                                                                             --Jenna Hipp, LA-based celebrity nail stylist

This popular manicure can cause (1) nail damage, (2) nail infections and (3) skin cancer. I think it is safe not to do this regularly. The more frequent the manicure is performed, the more you expose your nails to UV light (ever wonder why they abandoned tanning bed? same light dear!).

Thinking you're making your hands look better but you're really putting yourselves at some very serious risk. Not to mention about the abrasive removal process, Gel manicure just don't come off like regular manicures. They really have to be soaked in acetone which can be very irritating to our nails.

It's pricey and dangerous so why not stick to your regular manicure? Just saying. :)

The Battle of the Eye Creams -Review

One best-kept beauty secret I know : USE AN EYE CREAM. You might think it's too early to use one. But when you start to notice crow's feet around your eyes, you'll end up telling yourself, "I wish I had started earlier!". As with most things, prevention is the best medicine. If you are in your 20's, it is essential to start a daily eye cream regimen.

Most eye creams are just so expensive you rather see those lines than to hurt your wallets. So here's 4 eye creams for P1500 or less!

(1) Quick FX Eyelift Cream
Php 49.00 | 10g

Review :
Okay, it's the cheapest eye cream ever! This is a beauty-on-a-budget must-have especially students who spends all night doing their thesis. There's a minimal result and it's not an overnight miracle cream but it still works!

(2) Celeteque Eye Tuck plus Dark Circle Lightener
Php 299.00 | 15mL

Review :
This eye cream comes in a white squeeze tube with a narrow nozzle. The nozzle is a great way to help dispense just the right amount of product that's why it lasts me a really really long time. It was kind of an average eye cream to me. There was nothing surprising about it. But it is still good for a basic moisturizing eye cream.

(3) Pond's Gold Radiance Youth Reviving Eye Cream
Php 699.00 | 15mL

Review :
The nicest eye cream I have ever used. It's so creamy and thick yet it doesn't feel heavy on your eyes. It's not crazy expensive compare to some eye creams and it's ultimately worth the money. My eyes looked fresher immediately after applying it. It also reduced fine lines and puffy eyes. To cut the story short, It does exactly what is says it will!

(4) Olay Regenerist Micro-sculpting Eye Cream & Lash Serum Duo
Php 1,495.00 | 10mL cream, 5mL serum

Review :
When you purchase it, the eye cream comes in on its own and has a little cap. You can remove the cap to affix it to the threaded base of the lash serum. It is a clever packaging because it'll help you to remember not to skip the lash treatment after applying eye cream.
The micro-sculpting eye cream has a silky, lightweight texture. I love the way my skin feels in the morning after using this product. I can say that this cream can reduce lines but won't make it totally disappear.
The lash serum, i won't lie, I don't see much of a difference but it can make your lashes seem fuller. It's nice to put mascara over the serum once it dries.

Most of us are guilty of changing our hairstyle almost as often as we change our shoes. Some of us blow dry or iron our hair regularly. Some of us bleach, perm, dye every now and then. Lucido-L is one of Japan's top ladies' hairstyling brands! In fact, they are Singapore's No.1 Ladies Hairstyling Brand (based on AC Nielsen data).

From versatile pumps to candy colored loafers and boat shoes, Parisian Comfy provides KC with a perfect mix of comfort and style.

Good news! If you buy the August ish of Cosmo, you'll get 20% discount for a minimum of P1,500 single-receipt purchase of any Parisian Shoes at the Ladies Shoes Department of The SM Store.

Cosmopolitan August issue

Since I needed new flats, I decided to go to Mall of Asia yesterday to check Parisian's new line called "Comfy". I'm not a big fan of loafers and boat shoes so I looked for their doll shoes instead. Surprisingly, I found this section of doll shoes for only P399.75!

I fell in love with its simplicity and it's perfect fit. I, now, understand why they named the line "Comfy". You can feel the soft cushion inside! I bought 4 pairs since its only P399 each and I used my discount coupon which i got from Cosmo's latest ish.

Four cute pairs for only P1279.20 :)
